Changes

I am weak.

But do not think my weakness is permanent.

I am silent.

But do not think I cannot speak.

I am crying.

But do not think I cannot smile.

I am frustrated.

But do not think I cannot be happy.

I am numb.

But do not think I am not  sensitive.

Little by little, things change.

Little by little, reality becomes different

Little by little, you change

And little by little you tend to realize...

this too shall pass.

Drive Through

The roads are empty.

The roads are narrow.

The roads are bumpy.

The roads are meandering.

Will there be a guide?

Will they be wide?

Will they be smooth?

Will they have a horizon?

Go on mate for you are on your own.

Go on mate for the width doesn't matter.

Go on mate for you'll be stronger.

Go on mate as you are making your own way.

Dolls

They were those plastic dolls
Who danced on the music of the world,

When asked to tell their story
They ran away to hide themselves.

They were those plastic dolls
Who chatted their meaningless chatter,

When asked to talk on emotions
They flew to the far off nooks and corners.

They were those plastic dolls
Who painted their face for beauty,

When asked what is real beauty
They could answer of their useless shams.

They were those plastic dolls
Who could not share their tears nor their smiles,

When asked to cry and smile
They could not do either as they were numb inside.

A Learner

The first week at school passed pretty quickly. I somehow didn't realise I am stepping into my first weekend in #Calcutta (I just prefer it over Kolkata). Well so yeah I got an idea on what goes into the book, in editing and then the cover the hard backs or the paperbacks, the sewing and then the rights. All sorted and done. But the nitty gritty (I have somehow liked this word, been using it a lot lately) of the whole thing (read book) lies in the punctuation and the grammar. I always thought maybe it's the full-stop which had a big business to do as it ends everything. But it is the #comma in which lies the whole taste of the book. I mean just imagine a book without comma... What it would be-too much of rambling or may be confusion and chaos no progressive thought at all. What if a character takes a pause but the writer didn't depict, what then! So yeah that tiny little curvaceous thing we have on our keyboards is essential like Bhishan said it forms the backbone. Literally, at one point of time I felt as if we need to move onto the next punctuation. Quite interestingly we moved to the after ones but none other had such an exaggerated role to play.

The school has this cozy environment where we all sit on the coffee table discuss the weirdest and strangest of topics that anyone can imagine, like we had an NRI cousin of Monaco biscuits as cookies with the coffee today and that the rectangle ones have a citrus taste. Then when you are kind of possessed by the bongs around you, you then start flaunting your punjabi background. When you learn Bengali from them but test the poor souls on their understanding of punjabi. (I mean how very typically North Indian and punjabi.) But when you have a mixed bag of people around you it's then the time for you to just enjoy and just experience the best of everyday. So yeah so far so good! ✌🏻️

Leh! Nature in Poetry

The place where the clouds give you company. You feel like floating in the sky. The mountains so high covered with ice so white you cannot believe your eyes for the purity you see. The ice just dissolves as you touch it.  The sun reflects on the white as if there is no bigger Diamond in the world. The river flows with every turn you take never lets you be alone even in the dark. The soft tides and the way it paves the way through the mountains makes you think that it took a turn there too.

The boulders and the brown rocks accentuate its beauty even more.  The water just so fresh and clean make you cautious that you might not disturb its sanctity. And all the noise you hear is the sound of the water of the river that  never leaves you alone or the swishing of the air which if you had wings would have made you fly and touch the skies.

The roads that demand you to "be slow as I am curvaceous" and to "be gentle on my curves" make you wish that they may never come to an end.  But you come back to reality when you get stuck in a landslide and the water channels which form the gaps in the roads. No doubt you experience the thrills more like being on the edge on every turn. But the scenic beauty is worth it. The Green pastured land in the middle of cold desert makes you believe that even in the adverse conditions growth can Happen. The houses made in a line with wooden panels and Window panes give you a taste of their Tibetan culture.

The monks or the little kids with their small eyes see you with an expression of "Hey man welcome to our land". They smile or even get arrogant but it's after all their land.  The white pillars and the chanting round Abouts are to be seen in every Corner and also you may find someone chanting their prayer if you are that lucky to have that glimpse.

The best experience can be achieved when you ride a bike. Get a biker boy for yourself and make him take you to Leh and what will follow is a life in Nature's kitty (raw and crude). An experience which will last for a lifetime and no other experience will be able to suffice for this. You see what you have never seen you feel what you have never felt you are on top of the world (literally) and the world you see is pure and white you just feel like turning your eyes into a screenshot machine cause each view is worth the feel. And what may surprise you is even a place like Leh has a 'night life'. The cafes wali gali, and wo mountain wali coffee is one amazing place to see. You become a part nomad or want to become a nomad cause that is how it plays with your senses.

The army men or the biker boys will never leave alone.  Residing in the toughest of weather changes and life of minimal amenities the army men are just a call away to help iss desh ki janta. These smart guys play volley ball or take a nature walk in this no man's land but when you need them for they'll be ready with full resources to save you in your hour of need.

The sensual and meditative effect it leaves on you will be there all your life.  When sitting alone even a mere thought of the place will make you feel the thrills and chills and the world you see will not be your place to be because you left a part of your soul in that place. In that place of the clouds of the snow of the white light of fresh air of Everything which is pure and sanctimonious. (And from where you never want to come back)
